27 before 28

My birthday was at the beginning of this week! Isn't that fun? I feel like I've spent the whole month celebrating (which I'm not complaining) I have wonderful friends and family who love to take care of me. Thanks everyone for making my birthday so lovely.
This year I've decided to make a list...27 things before I turn 28. It's a goal list and I picked up the idea here.
28 is my golden birthday, so it's special and I'd like to make it special. If you don't know what a golden birthday is, this will explain it. I'm turning 28 on November 28. Get it? Here's to a great year! Now, let's get started!

My husband is hot and he rocked the early 60's look on Saturday night. More pictures and stories to come. I just couldn't pass up these two. Yes Sir!

Today.

Today, I got home from black friday shopping with my mom and sis at 4am, went to bed and woke up at 10:30am. Jarrod took care of Zeda and is now, at 12:15, cooking me breakfast. Thanks babe. Today, is a good but busy day. I'm cooking, cleaning, decorating and organizing things for my big shower tomorrow night. Wish me luck! I'm really excited about it. Here's to a good day...it's a good start with my coffee in my new mug I got for my birthday from my good friend Bonnie. Isn't it great? Thanks Bon!

Get fancy with edible lace

I wish I would have seen these before this week. They would've looked perfect on my dessert table for my 60's party on Saturday.

5-5-5

A couple weeks ago at MOPS, our guest speaker inspired me to change my outlook on a few things. She's a counselor who works with troubled teens. They are taught as workers to first assess how they feel before they even approach the patient. She asks herself and her patients the 5-5-5 rule. How will this make you feel or affect you in 5 min, 5 hours and then 5 years.
A lot of times MY schedule is highest priority...I have a list and it needs to get done. Last week, I was worried nothing was going to get done. I had my sister's babies two of the days I was off (which I love having them) a dinner party with friends, a playdate and countless other things. I get a little overwhelmed when I can't get my house work done but I thought...
playing with the babies...5 min, my house work will be looking at me, 5 hours, we'll be laughing because we're having so much fun and 5 years they will remember Aunt BeBe (That's what Jey calls me) played with me and took me to Hot Donald's (That's what he calls McDonald's). On Friday we had such a great day. After naps, my dad came over to hang out for a bit, we went to Hot Donald's and then the zoo. On Tuesday, I had just Ava and the girls loved taking a nice long walk. Tuesday evening, Jarrod and I had dinner with our friends and played Mexican Train. We laughed so hard and stayed out way too late. All in all, last week was super fun AND very productive. I always say, "You have time for what you make time for." I've been using the 5-5-5 in a lot of ways since her talk and it's been so freeing. It just puts things into prospective when sometimes emotions get the best of you. Here are some cute pics of the babies on our fun day out!

Go away leaves...I want my husband back

I love fall, I love everything about fall. EXCEPT...for our leaves! One of the many reasons I'm excited to move, is because of the leaves. We LOVE our trees, and we will miss having giant trees around our house but I am tired of all the leaves. Our neighbors hate us because our leaves. One neighbor, puts a small fence around his yard every fall to keep our leaves out.
This year, Jarrod has worked extra hard on raking and burning our leaves since we are trying to make our house beautiful so we can sell and sell fast! However, I'm tired of him being outside and messing with those stupid leaves when he's home. The even crappier thing, the next day it doesn't even look like it did a thing. Boo leaves!

“A man without a mustache is like a cup of tea without sugar”

For awhile now, I've been noticing all the fake mustaches that are in blogs I read. Anywhere from, a prop for a photo booth, a bike ride, eteched on items, or tatooed on your finger, mustaches are for sure in. Okay, let me re-pharse that..."fake" mustaches are in. My friends in the good ol' Ozarks think I'm crazy for saying mustaches are "the thing" but it's true and I'll prove it...

Read this interesting blog post about mustaches. Then here is a whole blog soly about mushaches

Now, let me show you a few things...
TOM'S new collection for men has a mustache on the shoes.

Milk's campaign was way ahead of times with their Milk Mustache adds

Here is Design Sponge talking about the tatoos and etechings from 2008 (Yes we are behind here in Missouri)

In May, 2009 this mask was created
Swine Flu is definitely sweeping the nation, but one must be ready to avoid all tragic accident by equiping their self of this great mustache face mask!

Here is the classic, mustache on a stick for pictures, look even women are wearing them.

Seriously, the list goes on. So...what is the reason? I don't get it.
I'll leave you with a photo that was taken at a Mustache Ride from my friend Brooke's blog.

Birthday Wish List...

For everyone asking...here is what I want for my birthday. :)

I think it's time for a new hair cut, I want something different but I don't want it short. I love this model's hair...what do you think? Should I go for it?
I've been wanting one for awhile now...no making fun Megan!

I want knit boots. I'm not that picky on which ones...although I love the uggs. Ha. I would love the most expensive ones. However, I like the heather colored ones here.

Toms will always be on my list...I heart the wedges.

Now on to more practical things...
I need need need storage boxes...all sizes
I find it odd I don't have one of these but my cakes would turn out better if I did.
I need another...mine is, well...gross now. I use it to much!

Falling in LOVE

Nothing makes me fall in love more than looking at wedding pictures. Here's a picture that makes me fall in love. However, I'm already filled with love. Tonight, Jarrod took me on a wonderful date for my birthday (I know my birthday isn't for a couple weeks but it's the only night we have free until then). We ate fondue, drank coffee and then went shopping. I bought a sexy dress for my Mad Men shower and a new pair of jeans...and they are a size 3. Ha...I realize that's pretty personal and I usual keep those things to myself but since I already let you in when I posted it here, I thought why not. Enjoy, the picture...it's beautiful.

Going Global

Ok, I'm a math nerd. . . I'll admit it. What do you expect from an engineer, but I really do enjoy numbers and statistics. Which is why when Becca showed me that we can actually view the stats from our blog I absolutely loved it. It's kind of neat how much different information that's being kept track of. One of the best ones I think is where page views are coming from by country. As you can clearly see below you are actually reading an internationally followed blog. I'm not really sure who these people are or why in the world they would stumble across our blog but I think it's really neat. Becca and I love to travel and the idea that we have a pseudo connection to other countries through our blog is funny. What's especially ironic is that number four on the list, Malta, is actually where we spent our honeymoon and for such a small country it's really representing itself. But I have to give credit where credit is due and thank Russia for being the top international viewer. Regardless, if there really is anyone out there from another country who actively reads our blog or even if you're just stopping through, we'd love to hear from you in the comments. It's just a great reminder of how small our world really is.

Home of Our New Home

We've started a new blog! Don't worry this blog is going to stay right where it is and we'll keep posting regularly on our oh-so-exciting lives :) However, about a year ago Becca and I purchased a lot in Nixa to build our next home on and we thought there wasn't a better way to track our trials and tribulations as first time home builders than to start a blog dedicated to the whole process. So check it out at http://welcome2wicklow.blogspot.com/. We'll be writing about everything from fixing up and selling our current home to the planning and construction of the new one and all the details that go along with it. Thanks and let us know what you think.

More planning...

I'm trying to find a dress for the shower I'm planning in November. I've been waiting to go to the new vintage shop in town called Red Velvet . Today, on her blog I saw this display...I can't wait to go. Maybe I can find both Jarrod and I's outfits for the shower. In this post, she says, "
The new shop has dress racks inspired by "Betty, Joan and Peggy" (of MadMen)." I'd like to find a "Joan" dress. She's the sassy redhead on the show.

Long Locks

I was looking through old photos and found of few of my handsome husband with his "long locks" and it made me smile. He was a senior in college and wanted to grow out his hair before he got a "big boy" job. His hair is actually really pretty. It's thick, and has natural highlights. He wants to grow it out again since his "big boy" job doesn't care. I'm not so sure. I can't have my husband having prettier hair than me.

Shower planning

I'm planning a shower for Josh and Melissa and I'm really into it. The theme is from the TV series Mad Men. Jarrod and I started watching it just so I can get ideas. I'm pretty pumped about the party. I promise to share pictures.
Above are the invites...what do you think?
