Test Color

I just took a personality test that Megan had on her blog today and this is what it said.

It's only for today, tomorrow I will be something totally different but today my main component is "a decision maker"

You are 53 % extrovert and 47 % introvert.

Independently of any order of importance :

You are able to listen to others, you show a good emotional intelligence, you know how to bring your support to others.

You are also dynamic, your actions are only directed by your own will and you know how to lead people.

Finally you are a manager and a structured person, you know how to take into account the needs of each person while leading them towards the set goals.

P-A-R-T-Y- -P-A-R-T-Y- -P-A-R-T-Y

So this is LONG over due...Zeda's party! I've been planning this little thing for months and it has finally came and went. We had a blast! The day was full of excitement and fun. Z did so good with her presents and her cake. What a trooper. I was so happy to have our friends and family there and it all turned out to be what was in my head. Love it when that happens. Thank you for everyone who came and for those that couldn't...you missed out. Just kidding, we still love you.
Here are some pictures of the day!

Dedication

The morning of Zeda's birthday party we had her baby dedication at church. I know she's one, and we should have done this sooner but I'm really happy we did it on such a special day. She did wonderful and even made the crowd laugh a couple times. I think she really liked Phillip's glasses; she just stared at him with a big cheesy grin on her face.
Phillip did a great job. It was so sweet and sincere. He first let everyone know that He and Zeda have the same blood and that she's family. Ha. He also had our families stand to be recognized. He talked directly to Zeda and held her while he prayed for her and for us as a family. It was a very sweet moment for Jarrod and I.

He said her name is a Greek word that means olive. He talked about how important the olive tree was in the bible. That olive oil was used for healing. He referred to Luke 10:33-34, the story of the Good Samaritan who used olive oil on the victim of the assault to heal his wounds. The oil we read about through Scripture used as medicine was always olive oil. He read a passage from Hosea 14:6 her shoots shall spread out; her beauty shall be like the olive, and her fragrance like Lebanon.
His prayer for Zeda was that her life would be full of beauty and that she would bring healing to everyone around her.
My sweet sweet Zeda girl...oh how we love you.

Your Turn

My Bestie, Megan from This & That awarded me with the Beautiful Blogger title last week (probably because she has to). Thanks Meg! The rules to getting this little award are as follows: 1) make a short list of things that you might not know about me and 2) to pass the award along to some new bloggers.
Megan highlighted, in her award, on our high school friends. I will be the first to say, I too, read those blogs and love, love them! I think I will highlight on two of my college friends, Bonnie and Brooke.
First, let me explain that the blogging world has become such a huge part of my daily life. I check them almost every morning. I always think of things to blog about (which some get on my blog and some don't) and constantly get inspiration through blogs. Jarrod and I are building a house next summer-I go to blogs for inspiration; I throw a party-I go to blogs for inspiration; and I also go to them for my daily quiet time or if I just want to clear my head. Blogs a great thing and I'm pretty happy to be on this bandwagon.

So, now for something you might not know about me...
5. I like to plan parties but I hate crowds. I've turned into a complete introvert in the last couple of years. I'm an avoider of small talk, conflicts, and parties. Ha. So different than I use to be. However, I fake it pretty good. I force myself to be social and it appears pretty natural (I think, ha).
4. I never give cards. I think it's a complete waste of paper and money. If I give a $10 gift and a $5 card it's a total waste. I would have rather spent $15 on the gift. I usually just grab a scrap piece of paper and write on that for my cards.
3. I hate to cook. I love the idea of cooking, the smell of cooking, the outcome of cooking...but I hate to do it. For some reason, I have a hard time actually being hungry after I cook a big meal or cook for a party so I usually don't eat it. I'm not really even good at it and I hate HATE doing the dishes afterwords. However, again, I force myself to cook because, myself and our budget refuse to eat out very much.
2. I love McDonalds. That's my big secret. Okay, it's out. It's so bad for me and the food isn't really food, but I love it. The fries mainly; I ate them a lot when I was pregnant. It's really the only fast food I like. I think the others sound nasty and I realize they are all the same but there is something about McD's, it's different to me and I love it. Side-note: I don't eat it often, I try to never eat it but every time I see a McD's it makes me smile.
1. I want to be cremated. Ha...a little weird that I'm talking about my death. However, Jarrod and I are working on our Will now that we have a child. I told him I want to be cremated with no funeral, just a little get together (mainly for everyone left) and it can't be cheesy. Ha. Oh! and do NOT make my family stand there and greet people. Whoever thought of that idea is retarded.
Okay, enough about me. Now on to my highlighted blogs.
1. Megan at This and That. She is my best friend and an amazing chick (why wouldn't I choose someone amazing to be my bestie). Her blog is full of inspiration in all areas of life. She does a great job at posting almost everyday, it's definitely worth a daily read.
2. Bonnie at Bonnie Hall Photography. Bonnie was my college roommate. She lives in Rolla with her cute little family. Bonnie is an amazing photographer and loves to share her work. She's such a natural and I love her dearly.
3. Brooke at Brooke's Excerpts & Extracts. Brooke is another close friend of mine. Her and I have been through a lot of deep talks and there for each other through some hard times. Brooke lives LA with her husband while he attends seminary. Brooke is a great writer. She talks about her life in LA and about all the books she reads. It's a great blog to keep tabs on.
4. Finally, I'd like to play by the rules and highlight a new blog. It's brand new-only a few posts. I'm so excited to welcome my best sister ever to the blogging world. Sarah at Say Something Sarah is going to be a MUST read. My sister is so wonderful and has so much wisdom to share. Her blog is going to be entertaining, informative and inspiring. I'm excited to hear what Sarah has to say. She's great and I love her.
Okay, this post was not supposed to be this long. Ha. Hope you have fun exploring my featured blogs!

Attack the Watermelon

My sweet baby Z has found a new love: Watermelon. When I was cutting up a watermelon the other night I let her play/eat on an end piece. She was hilarious. Here are some cute pics of her going to town on her watermelon.

I have so much to blog about and so little time. I go to work tomorrow-boo and I actually have to work all weekend. It's totally different than my two days a week which I've become quite accustom to. Back to 5 days-What? A full work week-what? Ugh...it must be done.

My baby daddy :)

He melts my heart and gives me butterflies. I love this man and I love him even more now since our Z baby come along. We didn't do much for father's day but we did do everything he wanted. I love him...it proves that I love him because I took him to Mexican Vila for dinner. If that doesn't show love, I don't know what does. I love you baby...I wouldn't want anyone else to be my baby daddy. :)
My friend Meg took this picture a couple month again. You can see more here.

They Came!!!!

Do you remember the post about my desire for a certain pair of Toms shoes? I asked for them for Mother's day (which was last month) and Jarrod said, "I keep checking babe, but I don't think they sell them anymore." So...I've been trying to think of something else I want for Mother's day.
He's right, they are not going to sell them anymore, however, last Saturday he got an email from Toms, (unbeknownst to me) that said...

Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project!
The Last 1000 Pairs Now Available! Shop Womens | Shop Mens

As soon as he saw the email (thanks to his Droid that lets him know the second he receives an email) he snagged a pair up! Don't get excited if you're wanting a pair, because they are now all sold out. I got a box in the mail yesterday: to Jarrod from Toms! I got EXCITED! I know it was for me...I knew it. I was totally surprised, I thought there was no hope of me having those amazing looking shows. I had to wait all day, he wouldn't let me open them without him.

Awww....they are here and on my feet. I love them and I love the man who bought them for me even more. Life is good.

If you're board and would like to know about the mission and the project behind my new amazing shoes check out Charlize Theron's Africa Outreach Project.

My baby is a big girl!

As you all know Z turned 1 this week! We've been celebrating all week and it's been SO fun...insane but fun! Jarrod and I have been working on party stuff every night after she goes to bed so that is coming along nicely. Jarrod took the day off on Tuesday (her actual birthday) and we spent the whole day playing and celebrating. Here is what our day looked like...
1. Gailey's for breakfast
2. Nap at home
3. Picnic in the park, then played and walked around the park
4. Painted some pottery with her little foot print
5. First bit of ice cream at Emack and Bolios
6. Nap at home
7. Dinner at Gastros
8. Walked around downtown
9. Sang happy birthday and ate a cupcake before bed.
I'm afraid this girl is going to have a sweet tooth. We haven't really given her sugar at all yet so she is on a sugar high this week. After Sunday she's going back to her bland diet. :)
I'll post more pictures later of our day (once I get them off my camera). The party is Sunday! Can't wait to see everyone.
-Picture above is her in her first present given to her by my good friends Megan and Christy! Love you girls

My little water bug

Zeda loves the water...I mean LOVES the water. I'm so happy because her daddy loves to swim and if we had a little one who didn't want to swim he'd be a bit disappointed. We were a little worried at first...she hated bath time. She screamed and kicked when we put her in a tub until she discovered that she could splash. Now bath time is super fun for her and not so much for me. Since Friday Z had been in a pool everyday even if it's just for a little while. She gets all lathered up with a little hat on and sits on the stairs splashing until someone grabs her and takes her to the deep end. I realized the other day the girl has 5 swim suits for the summer. I thought it was a bit ridiculous but she's been in all of them already so it's not so bad, right? :)
This weekend was full of fun and excitement. We worked hard and played her. Saturday was a little family day to ourselves. We got many things done on our to-do list, played and ate good (I'm post pictures later of our wonderful food.) Sunday was Jarrod's family day and Monday was my family day. It was relaxing and enjoyable being with everyone. I love watching everyone with Z baby and getting to hold our new little addition...Ava Rebecca. Jarrod got to play some gulf and I made huge head way on the two parties coming up. I asked Jarrod, "What am I going to do with all my time once these parties are over" He said, "I'm sure you'll find something." Ha, he's right :) Last night we had my mom's birthday party. It was going to be at my house until my mom came over in the morning to sit while Z napped and I went to the dr. (more on that in a bit) and as she was leaving she said, "Let's just have the party at my house." Ha. I hadn't cleaned yet and party stuff was all over my kitchen. :) So I prepared the meal and dessert and took it over to Mom and Dad's for the party. Mom just lost about 65 pounds (WAY TO GO MOM) so the meal consisted of grill chicken salad with lots of fixing (fixing were for the rest of us) and strawberry shortcake (Mom's favorite) I even made my own whip cream! It was a fun night and the first of many party this month. Here is what's on the agenda for the next few weeks...
Laura's Jewelry party on Thursday, Garage sale at my house Saturday, sister's sip n' see on Sunday, Tuesday is Z's actual birthday- Jarrod is taking the day off and the three of us are going to party, Saturday is my first wedding of the season, and Sunday is Z's baby dedication and birthday party!!!!! Soooo fun. I can't wait for everything to get here. There will be lots of pictures and post to come!
Oh yeah...my dr. visit. I've had a nasty cold for a couple of weeks now. Last week it went from the common cold symptoms to feeling like I've been punched in the face and developed like five cavities on my top teeth. I couldn't take it anymore so I made an appointment. Turns out I have a major sinus infection. He gave me amoxicillin and told me to be faithful with my neti pot. He was a little unsure the meds would actually get rid of it so we will see how long it will last! However, it's not going to ruin my party fever! That's for sure!
